New insurance product in Malaysia for rural dwellers - KampungKu

Allianz General launches ‘KampungKu’ for it matters to the rural community

Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad (“Allianz General”) launched a brand new insurance product, ‘KampungKu’. ‘KampungKu’ is a first of its kind introduced specially for rural area dwellers.

“A home is one of the many important things that matter most to people. At Allianz, we want to ensure that these are well protected and taken care of. We realise that people in the city have many choices as compared to those in rural communities. Living in rural areas does not rule out one from experiencing flood or fire, hence they should have the adequate protection too. We want ‘KampungKu’ to reach out to people who need the coverage as much but may not have access to a variety of products like these,” said Zakri Khir, CEO of Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad.

‘KampungKu’ is a Basic Material Damage Insurance product which provides coverage to the rural area homes. In other words, it is a Fire insurance policy with a Flood and Windstorm extension as an emergency relief benefit for an affordable premium of only RM70 a year. It is a unique product as it is able to provide insurance coverage for Class 3 private dwellings or homes made out of wood. It also has a Personal Accident coverage that covers any one loss for Accidental Death, Permanent Disablement or Funeral Expenses.

“We hope that through ’KampungKu’ many rural communities are well protected. At the end of the day, what matters to us is that we want to give the best and provide results for customers, be it city folks or ‘kampung’ dwellers,” concluded Zakri.

‘KampungKu’ has been made available since April this year. For more information on ’KampungKu’, call Allianz Malaysia’s Customer Contact Centre at 1-300-88-1028 or email customer.service@allianz.com.my .
