What insurance products are popular in Singapore?

There are different insurance plans to suit different people and their needs. The Life Insurance Association of Singapore (LIA Singapore) has released Singapore's life insurance industry results from January to September 2011.


Here's a look at the breakdown of the different types of insurance products sold:


From January to September this year, the total weighted new business premiums (life insurance and health insurance) registered $1,464 million.
Out of this,$783 million (54%) of the insurance products sold were participating policies; $326 million (22%) were investment-linked insurance plans; and $355 million (24%) were non-participating insurance policies.

Singapore Life Insurance Industry Results for First Quarter 2011

Results released by Life Insurance Association of Singapore showed that
Singapore's life insurance industry has reported a 45% rise in weighted new business premiums to S$460 million for the first quarter of this year, from the same period a year ago, thanks to increased consumer confidence. Sales were brisk across all insurance products.
